The Batkivshchyna team has developed and will persuade parliament to accept a package of more than 100 amendments that will turn an unprofessional and repressive bill into a fair and non-violent document. After all, this is exactly how the faction deputies see mobilization.
This was reported by Yulia Timoshenko on your Facebook page.
“Batkivshchyna offers respect for our soldiers who have been defending us for two years, the same rules for everyone, voluntariness, motivation and common sense,” – noted Yulia Tymoshenko.
Among other things, the changes of the Batkivshchyna team provide for demobilization for those who have served 18 months; a twofold increase in salaries, free medical care and comprehensive social support from the state for those who are ready to extend their service of their own free will; priority call-up to the front of law enforcement officers; at least six months of training for conscripts before being sent to a combat zone; immediate demobilization for conscripts; deprivation of reservations and deferments for officials, prosecutors and deputies of all levels, including deputies of the Verkhovna Rada; maintaining reservations and deferments for people with disabilities of groups 1, 2, 3 and their caretakers.
“There are people in Ukraine who are ready to defend their land without intimidation, blackmail or repression. And in the Verkhovna Rada there are people who understand that there will be no victory through coercion. I really want to believe that there are a majority of such people there,” wrote the leader of Batkivshchyna.
Yulia Tymoshenko also added that she is negotiating with the country’s military leadership about the advisability of withdrawing the bill, which is opposed by the absolute majority of society.
She once again emphasized that, together with her team, she will do everything possible to ensure that unconstitutional norms are not adopted during the second reading of the mobilization bill. These are, in particular, as the leader of Batkivshchyna wrote, electronic agendas and offices; reducing the conscription age from 27 to 25 years; restricting people’s rights, blocking their accounts and movement; granting the police and local governments the rights to perform the functions of the TCC; a ban on the children of “evaders” entering universities.
Let us recall that Batkivshchyna, led by party leader Yulia Tymoshenko, proposed the concept of “fair mobilization” of Ukrainians in early January.
