A year ago, diesel fuel was more expensive than it is now, almost by half a dozen. However, this does not mean that drivers have reasons to be satisfied.
According to data from Reflex, which monitors fuel prices, the average diesel prices at filling stations have approached almost PLN 7/l over the past week, which means that diesel is 0.42 PLN/l cheaper than a year ago. Prices for unleaded Pb95 petrol remain stable at around PLN 6.70/l, which is also PLN 0.4/l higher than a year ago. On an annualized basis, autogas prices changed the most. From the level of PLN 3.80/l, the prices for liquefied gas fell to the current level of PLN 3.16/l, i.e. almost 17%.
Average prices at filling stations at the end of last week were as follows: unleaded petrol PLN 95 – PLN 6.71/l, unleaded petrol PLN 98 – PLN 7.35/l, diesel fuel PLN 7.01/l, LPG PLN 3.16 zł/l.
More sunsets on the horizon
As Reflex adds, last week was characterized by high dynamics of price changes both in the crude oil market and in the domestic wholesale market. After the turmoil in the oil market on Wednesday, wholesale fuel prices in the country fell sharply, but Friday’s rise in prices in the market will again raise purchase prices for domestic refineries.
As we read, regardless of the scale of the projected increase in wholesale prices, there is still a possibility of a further decline in diesel fuel prices to an average level below PLN 7/l. We can also expect reductions in the case of gasoline. Analysts predict that the possible scale of the reduction in retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel is PLN 0.5-15 per liter.
