The Football League is not slowing down. Although Rakow Częstochowa has been at the forefront for a long time, other clubs have not given up on the fight for the podium. Widzew Lodz and Lech Poznań are looking forward to the next season in the fight for European cups.
The last tour of PKO Ekstraklasa was full of sports emotions. Two contenders for the league podium clashed in Łódź. On one side was Vidzyu, which was one of the biggest revelations of the season. On the other hand, Lech Poznań, who was promoted to the top eight in the European Conference League last week after beating Djurgården. It was Koleiorz who won on Sunday in the capital of the Lodz region with a score of 2:1.
Destroyed stadium “Vidzew Lodz”
After the match, there was not as much talk about the sporting level as one might expect. The duel turned out to be very risky, as the fans of both teams do not like each other. A large group of Lech supporters came to Łódź and from time to time they got into a verbal skirmish with Widzew’s fans. The situation during the match became even more tense, as various objects flew towards the field.
Lech fans destroyed the objects blocking the net, but, according to journalist Marcin Sypshak, the stadium operator recorded much greater losses in other parts of the guest zone. Pseudophanes destroyed the plumbing in the bathroom, elements of the food court and chairs. According to Sypshak, fans of ŁKS Łódź, Vidzew’s eternal rival, were also involved in the action.
“The damage is in the hundreds of thousands. The guest sector at the stadium in Lodz will be closed until the end of the season! Shame! Seriously, Lech, do you want to go to Europe? – TVP 3 Łódź wrote on Twitter.
Lech Poznań could be penalized after match against Widzew Lodz
