There are many myths about late autumn and winter among Polish drivers. We expose them one by one, together with the experts. One of the most common misconceptions, still popular among some drivers, is that air conditioning is forgotten during the fall and winter months.
Air conditioning needed in winter
Meanwhile, for the proper functioning of the entire system, the air conditioner must also be turned on in winter. You need to do this at least several times a month, for a few minutes. Air conditioning in the winter months allows you to dry the air, due to which, among other things, the windows fog up less, which affects the comfort and safety of driving. In addition, along with the coolant, oil circulates in the system, which lubricates the system and has preservative and sealing properties.
However, if the air conditioner is not used for several months, it may not work again in the spring, as the compressor will fail due to lack of lubrication. Mechanics have calculated that even one in five cars that come into their garages after the winter requires intervention in this area.
