The need to bring administrative prices and tariffs to their economically justified level will be the main factor in the growth of inflation in Ukraine in the coming years.
This is evidenced by the inflation report for April of the National Bank, reports TSN.
The NBU forecast takes into account a possible increase in electricity tariffs for consumers this year. The moratorium on the increase in tariffs for gas, hot water and heat supply will end only next year.
As you know, earlier the gas supply company Naftogaz of Ukraine announced that its annual gas tariff in the period from May 1, 2023 to May 1, 2024 will remain at the level of UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. m (with VAT).
At the same time, the National Commission has already published preliminary tariffs for centralized water supply and drainage. Tariffs are expected to rise in two phases, first on April 1st and again on July 1st. The cost of services after the increase will rise in price by about 30%.
Also twice in Ukraine can double tariffs for electricity. However, so far the government has not announced options for revising prices. Such a move is explained by the fact that the increase in tariffs will increase the salaries of power engineers and other critical infrastructure workers, as well as carry out emergency restoration work.
