Thermomix on wheels? The price of a new device knocks you down

Vorwerk is widely known as a manufacturer of kitchen Thermomix, but the manufacturer also deals with other equipment. The premiere of another of them has just taken place - Kobold VR7. There is a self-propelled cleaning robot, for which you have to pay a lot of money.

The Kobold VR7 vacuum cleaner differs from the company’s previous vacuum cleaner in that it is the first to do everything itself. It functions just like many other devices on the market, but stands out from the crowd with its shape.

Reminds me of the letter D, which should ensure the best hit of the vacuum cleaner in the corners of the room. It also detects the type of floor, including carpets, rugs or hard floors, and adjusts the suction power and brush rotation according to the respective conditions. The Eco option saves you money on the battery, with up to 140 minutes of battery life on a single charge.

The kobold is equipped with advanced sensors such as LiDAR and a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor that allow it to effectively avoid obstacles. Of course, it also displays the rooms, which makes it easier for the machine to clean in the next cleaning sessions. All options can also be configured from the mobile application level, and the main ones can be changed using buttons or voice commands.

Kobold’s satellite is dock RB7. This is where the vacuum cleaner stores what it has collected from our floors. Impurities fall into a specially prepared filter bag, which should reduce almost all allergens. Interestingly, you can even insert a special aromatic cube into the robot’s filter.

However, there is a price to pay for convenience. On the day of the premiere, May 4, the price of the Kobold VR7 vacuum cleaner with the RB7 docking station is a hefty PLN 6,645.
