Eva Svoboda set a new Polish record. It was impressive

Must read

Ewa Svoboda set a new Polish record in the 60-meter race. She performed impressively in the semi-finals of the World Indoor Championships.

On the second day of the World Indoor Championships, we had the pleasure of watching sprinters compete in the 60m event. Two Polish women flew to Glasgow to represent our country at this extremely important event – Eva Svoboda and Magdalena Stefanowicz. Both runners performed well in the qualifying rounds and advanced to the semi-finals. In the case of the first one this was obvious. In the case of the second one, this was a pleasant surprise.

Eva Svoboda and Poland’s impressive record

Svoboda was the first to reach the semi-finals and again surpassed its rivals. She crossed the finish line in 6.98 seconds, the best in the world in 2024. She beat second Rani Rosius by as much as 0.14, a huge lead over 60m. After the finish, the Belgian pushed aside the Pole, who also set a new Polish record.

As expected, Stefanovic was no longer able to fight for the final. The mere presence of a 23-year-old guy in 1/2 should be satisfactory for her. She was the last to cross the finish line with a time of 7.37, 11 hundredths slower than the qualifying time. The red and white team didn’t make any mistakes – they just didn’t have enough speed. By comparison, the first Hobbs had a 7.04.

“Just getting out of the block was mediocre in my performance, and the whole race was like that. I don’t think it was stress because I felt good during the warm-up. Well I’ll take it on my chin. This is my first world championship and she was in the semi-finals. There is something to be happy about. “I’m motivated and I believe that in the summer I will be faster and beat my personal best,” Stefanovic said.

“In the final, Eva will win a medal and get closer to the world record,” the runner added at the end of her conversation with a TVP Sport correspondent. With a time of 6.92 seconds, Svoboda’s younger friend presented her with a tough challenge.
