Do you fight like this in a relationship? Be careful, you can ruin the relationship

Must read

Fexting is used by many people during disputes. However, they often do not realize this. See what this method is and how it affects relationships.

Fexting argues electronically using text messages. In this case, the quarrel does not take place “eye to eye”, but takes an indirect form. It is carried out using a computer, tablet or mobile phone. Partners exchange not only the written word, but also emoticons, i.e. graphic signs expressing various types of emotions, such as sadness, anger, despair, mockery, etc.

Why has fencing become so popular in relationships?

The reason for the popularity of fexting is often a greater sense of comfort. Sending text messages is one of the most popular ways to communicate. Works relatively quickly, does not take much time and most importantly avoids direct confrontation with the interlocutor. Jaime Mahler, a board-certified clinical psychotherapist, told Insider:

Someone decides to face due to convenience, someone chooses this method of communication because they want to have more time to prepare an accurate answer. Still others resort to fexing due to communication difficulties, and texting is simply the easiest way.

Fexting - convenience or problem?

Fexting is very often perceived as a convenient, simple and quick form of contact. However, it should be emphasized that this type of communication can cause many problems in a partnership or marital relationship, as well as exacerbate existing problems. It is much easier to misinterpret what is written than what is spoken. The recipient of a text message cannot obtain information about his interlocutor from non-verbal signals, does not hear the timbre of his voice. He does not see facial expressions, gestures, views. The absence of the aforementioned “data” makes it much more difficult to correctly understand the message. As a result, intentions may be attributed to the other party that they did not have at all. Thus, fexting becomes a source of additional misunderstandings, which further alienates spouses or partners from each other.

However, it is worth noting that in certain situations, fexting can be a useful “tool” in conflict resolution. Writing a text message sometimes allows you to “cool down” emotions, gather your thoughts and look at the subject of the dispute from the side.. It should be emphasized that in this case, much depends on individual predispositions and personality traits. “Textual arguments” are usually more preferred by introverts, who often find it difficult to directly express their emotions.
