On July 1, the state of emergency for the epidemic ceased to operate. This means concrete changes for patients, including those related to the work of pharmacies.
The cancellation of the state of epidemic danger is connected, among other things: without the mandatory wearing of masks in pharmacies and medical institutions. But not only.
Do you still need to wear masks somewhere?
With the abolition of the state of epidemic danger, the ban on wearing masks in hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and other medical institutions has been lifted. However, as reminded by the National Health Fund, in the event of a nosocomial threat, the head of the hospital will still have the right to impose such a duty. He called on hospital managers to introduce rules for the use of personal protective equipment, incl. Dr. Pawel Grzesewski, expert of the High Medical Council. “We have returned to normal life, but when contacting symptomatic patients, masks must be used,” he said during his webinar.
Where can you get a COVID-19 vaccine?
Vaccination policy is also changing. Medical personnel are no longer required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. From July 1, you will no longer be vaccinated against COVID-19 at the pharmacy. This feature has been removed. According to the National Health Fund, vaccination stations located in pharmacies have provided valuable support for the vaccination campaign during the most intense period of the epidemic. Currently, vaccination against COVID-19 will continue at vaccination points that are medical entities by authorized medical personnel until further notice. A list of such points can be found on the NFZ website.
The coronavirus pandemic broke out in Poland on March 20, 2020. The state of the epidemic was in effect in our country until May 15, 2022. On May 16, 2022, the status of the epidemic was changed to epidemic emergency, and from July 1, 2023, it was removed by decision of the Minister of Health.
