The main falsifier of the presidential elections in Russia suddenly died

Must read

On Wednesday, March 22, the former head of the Russian Central Election Commission, Vladimir Churov, died suddenly in Moscow. He headed the CEC from 2007 to 2016 and went down in history as the main falsifier of the presidential and parliamentary elections in Russia. Some of Churov’s public statements became “winged”.

Interestingly, on March 17, Mr. Churov turned 70 years old. Russian media claimed that the hero of the day feels very good. However, now after the death of TASS reports that Churov died in the hospital after surgery. At the same time, the agency refers to the State Duma deputy Leonid Ivlev. “Vladimir Evgenievich suffered a massive heart attack, he died“, - he said. And the Vedomosti newspaper writes that a little more than a week ago, Churov had an operation after a heart attack.

Vladimir Churov made an excellent career as an official thanks to Vladimir Putin. In the 1990s, he worked in St. Petersburg on the Foreign Relations Committee. Almost everyone who was then subordinate to Putin, then received an appointment in Moscow and went uphill.

Churov’s star time came in March 2007, when he replaced Alexander Veshnyakov as head of the Russian Central Election Commission. This came as a surprise to many. After all, Churov was a simple State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party.

Soon the Kremlin’s choice became clear to everyone.

Churov’s first law says: Putin is always right because he always follows the law. This is true, which I had the opportunity to repeatedly convince myself over the years of joint work with Vladimir Vladimirovich“, - said Churov.

Churov’s second law sounds like this: we cooperate with everyone who cooperates with us. And those who do not cooperate with us, we cooperate with them anyway.“, - added the new head of the CEC.

He swore by his beard:I will do my best to make the elections fair“.

In March 2011, Churov was again the only candidate for the position of head of the CEC. His re-election took place shortly before the start of an unprecedented path of protests against the falsification of the election results. The opposition did not recognize the results of the elections to the State Duma in December 2011, after which the first rally of many thousands took place on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow demanding fair elections and Churov’s resignation. But it was only in 2016 that he was removed from the post of head of the CEC. On the right path, the official was respectfully retired.

Churov retained his loyalty to the “king” even after his resignation. Ivlev told reporters that his former boss planned to write a book about US interference in other countries’ elections.

Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Presidentdeeply sympathizes in connection with the death of Churov“.

Recall that recently died a banker who robbed the Central Bank of Russia for 60 billion dollars.
