Indira Varma is the latest star to join the cast of the upcoming season Doctor Who. The British actor, who is no stranger to science fiction and fantasy, will play the enigmatic Duchess, one of the main guest stars who played enigmatic roles alongside the Fifteenth Doctor.

The BBC reports that Varma, who previously played Suzie in the series’ first season Doctor Who spin off torchwood in 2006 will make a second trip to Whoniverse. She will act together Nkuti Gatwawho will debut as the Fifteenth Doctor in the new season WHOwhich will debut after three issues featuring David TennantDoctor later this year. Varma says: “I am very happy to be in Doctor Who and is particularly excited to be crossing the cosmic paths with Nkuti as the Doctor, and looks forward to creating interplanetary evil with him. I enjoyed playing Susie Costello for Russell T Davies V torchwood so I am very glad to enter this world again.”

Who is Indira Varma?

Varma made her screen debut in Mira NairErotic historical drama of 1996. Kamasutra: love story.
