No royal alliance is complete without a King and Queen, and the rulers of Thon are no exception. Very rarely do royal lovers get a glimpse into the private but undeniably exciting lives of Thon’s super-elite. However, thanks to Bridgerton prequel, Queen Charlotte: The Bridgerton Story, it’s definitely on the table. In fact, there’s a lot to look forward to from the Netflix show, which focuses on the glorious details of the union and possible marriage between the young Princess Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and the young King George III (Corey Milkchrist). Ahead of the long-awaited release of the Netflix show, viewers were teased with a little taste of what’s in store for young George.
In the new introductory video published on the official Bridgerton On the Instagram page, George looks like the epitome of a young monarch in his casual regal royal robes with stunning embroidery. The presentation is rather smoldering, it is clear that the young king knows how to keep his audience. Perhaps most notably, George plays with a black and gold “G” ring in sheer grandeur. Giving viewers a brief glimpse of what lies ahead, the caption reads: “If there is one thing certain, it is that His Majesty the young King George will soon meet a worthy opponent.”
What do we know about the young Queen Charlotte?
The caption seems like an obvious hint that George is about to come face to face with the uncompromisingly bold Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Despite the seemingly very cute trailer, it looks like Charlotte could compete with George for his money with a rundown for Queen Charlotte: The Bridgerton Story describing Charlotte as “beautiful, stubborn and exceedingly intelligent…not quite the qualities the British court were looking for in a consort for a young king”.
However, Charlotte isn’t the only character with a lot of mystery, and little is known about King George in general. Bridgerton series, so the prequel presents some interesting stories. One in particular is that George is said to be keeping secrets that could shake the foundations of the monarchy. There is an addition of an adult Queen Charlotte (Golda Rochevel) is often seen as the spearhead of the monarchy in the original show, with enough power and strength for both of them. Exactly why or how this happened has never been revealed, so it’s likely to be especially intriguing to viewers.
Queen Charlotte: The Bridgerton Story is a brand new story created by the original Bridgerton author Julia Quinn and show creator Shonda Rhimes. It is to be explored in gorgeous color on screen and then in brilliant detail in paperback form. The series will air on May 4, and the book will be released on May 9.
