10 First couplet jump

Just as Evelyn is introduced to a multiverse alternate version of her husband, Waymond (masterfully played Ke Hai Quan), she’s been taught “verse jumping” techniques that allow her to connect to alternate universes, and it’s pretty bizarre.

Because each route requires the traveler to complete a strange task in order to reach other parts of the multiverse, Evelyn and the others do some rather strange things throughout the film in order to traverse the multiverse. From telling someone that you truly love them to inflicting a few scalding paper cuts, verse jumping asks a lot of questions for its travelers and is quite entertaining to watch.

9 hot dog fingers

One of the strangest places Evelyn finds herself on her journey is in a universe where she is not only in a relationship with her auditor Deirdre (Jamie Lee Curtis), but everyone has those lithe, almost disgusting looking hot dog fingers.

This is one of the universes that causes instant laughter with its unexpectedness, but even more unexpected it can be emotional. Through a few flashes later in the film that fit well with Evelyn’s personal arc, the Hot Dog Fingers universe somehow steals your heart and makes you smile at how amazingly talented and versatile these people are.

8 These guards didn’t stand a chance

The first big twist in Evelyn’s journey is the discovery that Jobu Tupac, the alleged chaos maker in the multiverse, is actually a version of her daughter Joy (one of Stephanie HsuJoy’s most iconic roles) and their first interaction shows just how strong Joy’s connection to the multiverse is.

The three unsuspecting guards had absolutely no chance against Joy as she pulled off several dizzying and darkly hilarious moves that resulted in one guard’s head crumbling into confetti and another guard being knocked down with dildos by the guard.

7 The direction of her inner sign Spinner

Just as Evelyn looks like she’s about to be taken over by Alpha forces, she can connect with another version of herself that is just a spinning roadside sign, but this skill proves to be a vital tool in combat.

With a wave of her shield against rebellion, Evelyn uses her sign-rotation skills to deal with Alpha forces in one of the All, Everywhere, All at oncethe most epic action sequences, showing that even the most seemingly useless skills can come in handy.

6 Drift through the multiverse

Once Evelyn begins to have more control over the entire multiverse, Joy invites her to sit on the couch with her, and after they fall through the couch, they embark on a hellish journey through the incredible non-MCU multiverse.

Joy takes Evelyn on a journey where they fight in fantastic looking universes, and Joy constantly taunts Evelyn. There’s even a universe where they’re just piñatas, and it’s mind-blowing to watch the events unfold.

For the most part All Everywhere All at onceyou kind of wonder how Joy plans to create havoc in the multiverse, and revealing what she’s created is both weird and a little funny.

Joy “puts everything on a bagel” by creating a black hole that can tear the multiverse apart, but fans eventually discover that it has a much darker and sadder purpose, having to do with Joy’s emotional state and harsh worldview. It’s such a bad feeling that you’ll never look at bagels the same way again.

4 Ratatouille with raccoons

In one of the main universes that Evelyn is connected to, viewers see her as a chef in competition with the incredibly talented chef Chad (Harry Shum Jr.) who has a hilarious secret.

Inspired by Pixar Ratatouille, Harry’s talent comes from the rodent pulling his strings, but instead of a rat, it’s a giant raccoon. It’s a reveal that ends up being an incredibly funny nod to an underrated Pixar film and plays a big, moving role in the film’s final moments.

3 Multiverse montage

The whole last act All Everywhere All at once features some of the multiverse’s wildest moments, which include a visually mesmerizing montage of various multiverse versions of Evelyn.

It’s a montage that perfectly showcases the infinite possibilities of the universe, and you can’t help but feel your jaw slowly hit the floor as you see all of Evelyn’s flashes across the multiverse, which includes the animated version as well as the one where she was born male.

2 Joy and Evelyn - rocks

No, seriously, there’s a moment in Joy and Evelyn’s journey through the multiverse where they end up being two large rocks facing a mountain together. This is the most absurd moment in an absurdist film.

Daniels first makes this moment incredibly funny with hilarious caption text, the sheer weirdness of it all, and Evelyn’s stone slowly approaching Joy as she runs away. However, it ends up being one of the film’s strongest moments as it plays along with Evelyn and Joy finally coming together.

1 Make it right

pjiimage-2022-04-14T094301.081

When Evelyn finally gains control of the multiverse in the movie’s big ending, she decides to embrace Waymond’s kinder mentality and make things right rather than fight.

With every person she meets, Evelyn delves into what they need in life and fills that need to make them whole again. It’s an incredibly emotional ending that makes good use of the multiverse setting, eliciting hilarious laughter and heartfelt emotion as Evelyn eventually reconciles with Joy in a memorably touching ending.
