New photos of the remake Road house, e featuring an Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal and former UFC bi-division champion Conor McGregor. Production on the 1989 classic’s reboot began in August, and while no release date was announced, moviegoers got snippets of what they can expect.
road house marks McGregor’s first career as an actor, and he has tweeted images of himself in the crystal blue waters of the Dominican Republic, where the film is being shot. In the images, “Notorious” is wearing an open collared shirt and gold chain while his famous gorilla chest tattoo is visible. Amy Kaplan of FanSided shared footage of McGregor alongside Gyllenhaal, the man tasked to lead road house cast, including Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen and Lucas Gage. The footage shows Gyllenhaal and McGregor side by side off-camera, with McGregor standing in the boat with Gyllenhaal holding on to the side.
road house leads Doug Limanwho is credited with his work on Edge of Tomorrow, Jumper, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Fair game. Original Film Producer, Joel Silver, was also commissioned to create a remake. Gyllenhaal is a famous actor who has starred in several films, including night bum, Donnie Darko, Day after tomorrow, Brokeback Mountain and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Gyllenhaal plays Dalton in road house, the name of the character originally portrayed by Patrick Swayze. Dalton is a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadside eatery.
Not much is known about McGregor’s role at the time of writing. As already mentioned, road house McGregor’s first feature film. He is a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion and the first fighter in the promotion’s history to hold titles in two divisions at the same time. The Irishman is the biggest name in mixed martial arts and boasts a professional record of 22-6. According to Tapology, McGregor is responsible for eight of the top 10 UFC pay-per-view events. He last fought in the octagon in July 2022 at UFC 264 in Las Vegas, Nevada when he fought Dustin Poirier in a trilogy. Unfortunately for McGregor, he broke his leg in the second half of the first round and the cage doctor called the fight off before the second frame. McGregor has stated several times that he plans to return to the fight in 2023.
