Apple TV+ has released the first trailer and release window for the second season of the series Foundationits epic sci-fi adaptation Isaac Asimovliterary work. The story follows a group of renegades who challenge the Galactic Empire to prevent the destruction of humanity.
1 season Foundation follows the psychohistorian Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) as he comes up with a formula that perfectly predicts the end of the Galactic Empire and the destruction of human society. To preserve knowledge and ensure humanity’s future prosperity, Hari helps establish the Foundation, a group of rebels who challenge the Empire as soon as those in charge refuse to heed Hari’s warning. The story of the series spans hundreds of years as several groups struggle to control the fate of humanity.
The new trailer was dedicated to the victims of the Foundation, highlighting how they left their homes and their lives for their cause. However, their mission is far from over, because after the fall of the Empire, the Foundation will still have to rebuild society. In Season 2, the Foundation will face a crisis of religion as the leaders begin to use the words of the divine to control the hopeless people who struggle with the fall of the Empire.
To represent the spread of religion in season 2 Foundation, the series is attracting new actors. The upcoming second season adds Isabella Laughland as Brother Constant, a clergyman whose job it is to evangelize the Galactic Spirit Church throughout the Outer Reach. Another new religious figure Culvinder GearPoly Verisof, a cynical high cleric of the Galactic Spirit Church who has a drinking problem. Also added season 2 Sandra Yee Sensindiver, Ella Ray Smith, Dmitry Leonidas, Ben Daniels, Holt McCallany, Mikael Persbrandt, Rachel Houseand Nimrat Kaur.
When Foundation Season 2 coming to Apple TV+?
Beyond teasing new challenges Foundation will face in the upcoming season 2, the new trailer also gives the new season a release window. Produced David S. Goyer and Skydance Television, the second season of Foundation will premiere on Apple TV+ in the summer of 2023, i.e. sometime between June and September.
