According to Puck News, Taylor-Johnson met with the producer Barbara Broccoli recently, when the meeting was reported to have gone well. This comes as no surprise since Taylor-Johnson fits the bill the producers are looking for in the next actor to play the world’s most notorious spy. Let’s start with the fact that it corresponds to the 30-year direction that Connection the producers announced they planned to take it. co-producer Michael G. Wilson stated earlier that the team sought to make a new James Bond 30 year old character explaining that Connection couldn’t be younger than 30 because he would be a man with some experience under his belt. According to Wilson, “Remember, Bond is already a veteran. He has some experience. He is, so to speak, a man who went through the war. He’s a man who was in the SAS or something like that. He’s not some high school kid you can bring in and start. That’s why it works for 30 year olds.”

While Taylor-Johnson ticks all the boxes, Puck News explains there’s also a risk that the actor could become too famous to play James Bond due to the next two movies he’s due to star in. Kraven the Hunter and Fallen Guy. Both films will be released before the next Connection the film begins to shoot; Kraven the Hunter will be released October 6, 2023, and Fallen Guy scheduled for March 1, 2024.
