Approximately 1,000 land owners have applied to participate in the Voluntary Expropriation Program, which will house the Central Port of Communications in the future. Those who are undecided can apply until April 7th. After this time, expropriation for compensation will take place.

A representative of the Central Port Communicative company said in an interview with RAP that the opportunity to apply for participation in the Voluntary Acquisition Program (VAP) for owners of real estate located on the territory of the future airport will soon end.

- Everyone who would like to use the PDN still has such an opportunity. We are waiting for applications until April 7, so there is still time to take the appropriate steps. For several days now, we have been informing residents about the termination of the PDN through the caretakers of the territory of the future airport. After this date, the default method of acquiring real estate will be expropriation for compensation, which is definitely less beneficial for the owners, said Konrad Maszyk, a spokesman for the CCP.

Company The company’s goal was to acquire at least 2/3 of the land for the planned airport. The interest of the landowners surprised the company. At the moment, PDN have reported almost a thousand owners owning real estate with a total area of ​​​​almost 2800 hectares (including 2/3 of the land for the planned airport).

Demolition work has begun on the site of the future airport

As a result, the company has already acquired more than 500 hectares of land through voluntary acquisition, and more than 1,000 hectares are currently at the stage of approval or obtaining corporate permits.

“The dynamics of this program has exceeded our expectations. We will achieve this goal well ahead of schedule. Due to the rapid pace of buyouts, demolition work began at the airport earlier this year, a prelude to the actual construction work. The first moves, organized and financed by CPK, are behind us. At the moment, we are implementing another one, in agreement with the residents - added.

What is the Voluntary Acquisition Program?

An owner who has joined the PDN can count on a higher valuation of his property. In the case of a building, it is 140 percent. value, and land 120 percent. Another program option is valuation based on the replacement value of real estate without depreciation, which is especially attractive to owners of buildings in poor technical condition.

The Voluntary Acquisition Program also provides that interested residents, instead of a classic sale and purchase transaction, can choose replacement properties, of which STH has more than 600 hectares, mostly within a radius of 100 km from the planned airport.

STH: High-speed railway Katowice - Ostrava

STH is not only an airport, but also an extension of the rail network. On Wednesday, CPK announced the selection of an investor option for the Katowice-Ostrava high-speed rail section. The experts pointed out the option W72, which provides for the construction of new railway stations, incl. in Żory Polnotsne and Mszan, the possibility of building an intermodal terminal in Wodzisław Śląski, an additional section connecting Wodzisław Śląski with the center of Jastrzebie Zdrój, as well as new sections providing fast communication, eg. Rybnik and Zory with Katowice and the rest of the country.

STH investment. Breakthrough for Jastrzebie-Zdrój

– The STH project will ensure the inclusion of Jastrzebie Zdrój, a city of 90,000 people, which is by far the largest city in Poland without access to the railway, to the railway network. New railway stations and stops will be built, such as Jastrzębie-Zdrój Centrum and Zachód. Thus, we make up for the backlog of the last decades. Thanks to CPK’s investments in Silesia, the railway will cover more than 3.5 million inhabitants of this region, including Jastrzebie, Żory, Rybnik and Wodzisław – emphasizes Marcin Horala, Deputy Minister of Finance and Regional Policy, government plenipotentiary in the CPC.

The company emphasizes that thanks to investments in the province, the Silesian Voivodeship will significantly reduce travel time. Passengers can get from Katowice to Jastrzebie-Zdrój in 50 minutes by suburban train or 35 minutes by fast train (no such service today). The train ride to Katowice from Rybnik will take 25 minutes (currently more than twice as long) and from Wodzisław Sileski about 40 minutes (today over 1 hour). From Żory-Pulnocne to Katowice, the train journey will take about 20 minutes, and from Wodzisław Silesian to Jastrzebie Zdrój, about a quarter of an hour (there are currently no such messages). From Jastrzebie Zdroj and Rybnik we will reach Warsaw in 2 hours.
