Apple fans are worried. iPhone 15 Pro will lose its iconic feature

Must read

The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro may drop a popular option that users even use on a daily basis. New leaks reveal a design change that gets rid of one of the device’s unique features.

The iPhone 15 Pro can get rid of the mute switch with a swipe of your thumb. The physical button that activates the so-called Silent Mode has been one of the most recognizable design elements of the device and has been on the iPhone for a very long time.

iPhone 15 Pro without mute switch

According to iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max appearance leaks circulating online, Apple’s upcoming phone is getting significant changes to the side buttons. For starters, two separate volume buttons need to be combined into one that will respond appropriately depending on where we press it.

However, die-hard fans of Apple products may even take offense at the company for removing the physical switch that puts the device into ring or mute mode.

A distinctive switch that instantly silences the phone has been present in Apple smartphones since the very first device - the iPhone 1 of 2007. It allows you not only to conveniently mute the sound, but also to confirm the status of the phone without going into the options, without turning on the screen, and without even lifting the device. This is indicated by the orange strip below the switch.

iPhone 15 Pro - what else will change?

This does not mean that the button mute feature will completely disappear from Apple technology. The mute button will appear on the iPhone 15 Pro. Most likely, it will change the state of the phone, similar to a switch. One click - the phone is silent. Another click, the phone rings again.

All buttons should also not be physical, but touch / capacitive. This means that they are not physical switches and will only work after determining the correct pressure at that location.

Interestingly, other anecdotal evidence indicates that the base iPhone 15 will keep the classic mute switch unchanged, which is likely to come with the Pro and Pro Max versions.
