During the tests of a sports SUV, the driver lost control and flew off the paved road. The car is seriously damaged. The accident happened near Warsaw.
The Lamborghini Urus is a large and heavy (2.2 tons) SUV that costs about PLN 1.5 million at a car dealership. The car is powered by a 4-liter V8 petrol engine with 650 hp. Powerful engine torque (850 Nm) is transmitted through an 8-speed automatic transmission to the wheels of both axles. According to the Italian manufacturer, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and can reach 305 km/h.
Coup “Lambo”
The accident involving the Lamborghini Urus occurred near the town of Szelig (Mazowieckie Voivodeship) on a technical road parallel to the S8 highway. The driver of a sport utility vehicle lost control and drove into a cornfield. Having left on the asphalt, the car turned over.
Bravado or technical failure?
The Urus driver noticed that his sports car began to behave strangely when braking. To diagnose the problem, he went to the mechanic. The gentlemen went together for a test drive, which took place on a less frequented technical road, parallel to the S8 highway. The Lamborghini driver accelerated the car and pressed the brake pedal hard. When braking, a malfunction was identified, with which the user of the car turned to the mechanic. The driver lost control and the car skidded. Having left the asphalt road, he drove into a field and there, after a few tens of meters, turned over, stopping on the side of the road.
300 meters of skid marks
The gentlemen sitting in the car - the owner and the mechanic - were full of fear, but were not seriously injured. Services arrived at the scene, including the Ozharova-Mazowiecki fire brigade, who helped put the SUV on wheels so it could be transported on a tow truck.
“The driver of the car went to the mechanic because the car suddenly skidded while braking. The man and the mechanic went for a walk where the mechanic had to confirm the fault. While driving, the car skidded under braking and rolled over, landing on its side in a cornfield, according to Miejski Reporter. He adds: “The skid marks are 300 meters away. It turns out that the driver of the vehicle was right about the brake failure… No one was hurt.”
Fortunately, in the wilderness
The body of the Lamborghini Urus is badly battered after leaving the field. The windows were shattered and the airbags deployed. Perhaps a car worth PLN 1.5 million can still be repaired. Body and paint repairs will certainly cost much more than repairing a defective mechanical brake. The most important thing is that no one was hurt, and the breakdown of the car, which led to a collision, occurred on a sparsely visited road.
