The data contained in the database of the Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers, aggregated by the Samara Institute of the Automotive Market, shows that the number of registered cars and trucks with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons in November 2022 increased compared to the same month of the previous year higher than the previous month (October 2022). However, the cumulative number of registrations after the eleven months of 2022 is lower than in 2021.
More deliveries
Why such a good performance in the face of ever-increasing prices, runaway inflation and an uncertain economic environment? As IBRM Samar summarizes: Accelerating deliveries of vehicles purchased in previous months is one of the factors behind the observed increase. “Of course, manufacturers today are much better at supplying components, so they are able to speed up the delivery of previously ordered vehicles to customers. The problem is the continued rise in prices, which has already slowed down demand and could lead to a further decline in sales next year. The level of uncertainty in the market is high. So far, pessimism has prevailed, which means we are seeing a decline rather than an increase in our and producers’ forecasts.”
The IBRM Samar forecast for 2023 assumes the registration of 410,000 people. cars and 59 thousand vans with DMK up to 3.5 tons.

Toyota market leader
Toyota has retained the title of market leader. In 2022, customers bought and registered 66,887 cars of this brand, which is 1.28 percent more than last year. less than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Toyota’s market share was 17.47 percent. Second place went to Skoda with 37,442 registered vehicles, up 10.68% over the previous year. less than in 2021. The share of the brand was 9.78 percent. Kia took third place. In 2022, the Korean manufacturer’s customers registered 31,468 vehicles, up 3.90% from 2022. more than last year. The share of the brand in the Polish market was 8.22 percent.
Currently, the best-selling passenger model in 2022 is the Toyota Corolla, followed by the Toyota Yaris and Kia Sportage, followed by the Dacia Duster and Skoda Octavia.
The most popular model among individual buyers is Dacia Duster, in second place is Toyota Yaris Cross, in third is Kia Sportage, in fourth is Toyota Yaris, in fifth is Hyundai Tucson.
