In the Obolonsky district of Kyiv, from July 6 to 10, three cases of acute intestinal infection were recorded.
Probably, the diseases were caused by the Salmonella bacterium found in sweets in one of the capital’s retail chains, the Kiev City Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported.
According to preliminary information, the probable cause of the disease could be the use by citizens on July 4 of low-quality confectionery products of their own production from one of the capital’s retail chains. According to the results of the corresponding bacteriological examination for the intestinal group of infections, the specialists of the State Institution “Kyiv City Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” salmonella was isolated in the obtained samples”- the message says.
All patients received the necessary medical care and are on outpatient treatment.
An epidemiological investigation has been launched, the department added.
