Feed with this fertilizer every two weeks: what to do so that roses constantly delight in flowering

Must read

Roses can bloom once, they can bloom in waves or continuously. In any case, they give a lot of energy to flowering and bud formation. Such work requires enhanced nutrition and care. What exactly needs to be done for roses in the summer, said gardener Oksana Medvedeva.

“Roses need to be fed every two weeks. It is better to make the first root dressing with a complete mineral fertilizer (kristalin, nitrophoska and others) in the spring, before budding. After two weeks, “feed” the bushes with a solution of mullein, which you prepare in advance: dissolve a bucket of mullein in five buckets of water, add 3 kilograms of wood ash to the solution - let it ferment a little. This solution is a concentrate, and for watering roses (and other ornamental plants) you need to take only 1 liter per bucket of water. For adult bushes, a bucket is enough, but for young ones, in which the root system is not very deep, half is enough.

In the summer, according to the gardener, roses are fed alternately: either with mineral fertilizers, or with organic ones.

“In addition, foliar top dressing can also be given - through spraying with solutions of trace elements, depending on the phases of development, says the specialist. - In stores, you can buy special sets of trace elements for roses and dissolve them according to the instructions. Keep in mind that in the middle of summer, roses no longer need nitrogen in large quantities, but only potassium and phosphorus, so you can even feed with just wood ash. Also remember that tall roses feel the most hunger - climbing and whip-shaped.

She also talked about life hacks, thanks to which rose bushes will delight you with flowers and not get sick. gardener from the Vinnitsa region Raisa Poymalo.
