Cooking fuchki - a delicious old Ukrainian dish

The ancient Lemko cuisine is rich in various interesting dishes. For example, you can cook Banduryaniki potato pancakes. And there is also a dish called fučki – sauerkraut pancakes, which are quickly prepared from simple ingredients.

Ingredients (for 5 servings):

  • 250 g sauerkraut;

  • 200 g flour;

  • 250 ml milk;

  • 1 large bow;

  • 3 eggs;

  • a pinch of salt;

  • 0.5 tsp Sahara;

  • oil for frying;

  • ¼ tsp soda.

Cooking:

  • In a bowl, combine eggs, salt, sugar, mix until smooth. Separately, add soda to the flour, mix, mix with eggs. The mass will be very thick, so add milk to it in parts, stirring the dough, make it homogeneous.

  • Chopped onion and sauerkraut, from which you need to squeeze out excess liquid, add to the dough, mix well and let stand for 20 minutes.

  • We heat the oil, take the dough with a spoon and put it in a pan, fry the pancakes on the sides until golden brown over medium heat.

  • Put the finished pancakes on a plate and serve with sour cream.
