In the Vinnitsa region, the whole family was poisoned by carbon monoxide. The 45-year-old mother and 14-year-old son died. Doctors are fighting for the life of a 16-year-old daughter, according to the TSN story.
An elderly woman contacted the police and said that she could not contact her daughter and grandchildren.
The law enforcement officers who arrived at the family’s house felt a persistent smell of gas. They saw a woman and a 14-year-old boy with no signs of life. The girl was unconscious but breathing. Now 16-year-old Sasha is in intensive care, her condition is critical.
A relative of the deceased said that the father of the family, a truck driver, was on a flight. The 45-year-old wife and youngest son died a few hours before the arrival of the police.
Relatives did not immediately start to worry, because they thought that the woman was working, she needed to write to Viber. The grandmother told the police when they did not answer the grandchildren.
The police are investigating the case as an accident. We have already found out that a few days before that, a new gas boiler and pipes were installed in the house. The old equipment is still in the yard. And after that, the woman began to complain about feeling unwell, relatives say. Apparently the family had been gassed for several days.
The DNSN recalled that carbon monoxide is extremely insidious, it has neither smell nor color.
“Its principle of action is such that it enters the bloodstream and, by binding to hemoglobin, stops the access of oxygen to the body, even small concentrations of carbon monoxide lead to death. Its toxicity is compared with hydrocyanic acid”, - quotes the publication of the representative of the State Emergency Service of the Vinnitsa region Alexander Kutovoy.
DNSniks advise to regularly ventilate the room, check the draft in the hoods and be sure to purchase a special detector that monitors the presence of poison in the air.
Recall that in the Kyiv region, three people died due to improper operation of the generator.
