SBU reported suspicion to traitors from Zaporizhia NPP

The SBU reported the suspicion to the pseudo-head of the occupied Zaporozhye NPP, Yuriy Chernichuk, who, before the temporary occupation of the region, served as deputy chief engineer, and after the enemy captured the plant, voluntarily cooperated with him and offered his help in the war against Ukraine.

In particular, he agreed to head the fake “NPP operating organization” created on the basis of the station, which is actually subordinate to Rosatom, the secret service states.

Now, in this position, a traitor is forcing Ukrainian nuclear scientists to sign contracts with a pseudo-institution, and also facilitates the connection of the power plant to the Russian energy system. Also, Chernichuk was a guest on Russian propaganda TV channels, where he denied the facts of Russian shelling of the Ukrainian nuclear power plant.

In addition, the criminal activities of the Russian blogger Artemy Lebedev, who in June 2022 illegally entered the territory of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, where he filmed a commissioned report for the Kremlin media resources on the seizure of the power facility and “dispersed” it through his half measure, were documented.

In addition, the former deputy head of the departmental paramilitary guard detachment of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, who was involved in the transfer of the unit’s material assets to the occupiers, was already exposed as cooperating with the enemy.

Based on the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service informed all the defendants about the suspicion under the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

• to the pseudo-head of the nuclear power plant - part 1 of Art. 111-2 (assisting an aggressor state);

• blogger ˗ Part 3 Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition of lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants);

• former deputy head of the departmental paramilitary security detachment, Part 1, Art. 111-2 and part 3 of Art. 436-2.

Currently, the attackers are in the temporarily occupied part of our state, but the SBU is taking measures to detain them and bring them to justice.

Recall that the other day, Ukrainian intelligence reported on the creation of a new dungeon of invaders in Energodar, Zaporozhye region, where citizens with pro-Ukrainian views are severely tortured, as well as those who do not want to comply with the requirements of the local occupation authorities.
