In Ukraine, food prices have been growing at a rapid pace since last autumn. Before Easter, prices for some products popular with buyers will become even higher.
Experts advise stocking up on them in advance so that you don’t buy at space prices before the holiday.
Closer to Easter, eggs and meat will traditionally start to rise in price. At the same time, the price tags for these products can increase by 10-15%. This forecast was made by the President of the Ukrainian Analytical Center Oleksandr Okhrimenko, reports KP.UA.
“As a rule, meat and eggs rise in price first of all by Easter. But, most likely, this year the increase will be small, since prices are already high. It is difficult to raise it even higher - they will simply stop buying. In addition, Ukrainians are unlikely to actively celebrate Easter this year. So if there is a rise in prices, then no more than 10-15%”Okhrimenko said.
Economist Andrei Martynyuk believes that vegetables, fruits, bread, cereals will rise in price by the holiday. And meat and eggs, in his opinion, will rise in price by no more than 5%.
“The fact is that the cost of vegetables and fruits is tied not only to Easter, but also to the season. They will rise in price until domestic vegetables from open ground come to the market. Moreover, the rise in price may turn out to be significant - plus 15-20% to today’s prices.he noted.
At the same time, Maxim Orishchak, an analyst at the Center for Exchange Technologies, predicts an increase in prices for dairy products and flour.
“Flour will rise in price by 10-15%, dairy products will rise by 7-10%, prices for vegetables and fruits will rise. And it’s not even bad that the food basket will rise in price for the holiday, but that prices will rise and, most likely, will be fixed. - says Orishak.
Experts believe that first of all you need to stock up on eggs and meat. Two or three trays may be enough until Easter and for the holiday, and then the seasonal price reduction will begin.
Also, poultry and fish will not be superfluous. Ahead is to buy raw smoked sausage if you plan to put it on the table.
For those who plan to bake Easter cakes, it is advised to buy flour, sugar, butter and sunflower oil and dried fruits.
