“Buns for 3 kopecks”: be sure to cook and feel the taste of childhood

Nostalgia, remember? How beloved buns that once cost 3 kopecks were appetizingly displayed on wooden bars in the store, which were tempting bagels for 6 kopecks! According to this recipe, buns are obtained exactly the same as in our childhood, cook Tatyana Petrishina shares.

Ingredients:

  • Warm water - 300 ml

  • Fresh yeast -10 g (dry - 4 g)

  • Flour - 450/500 g

  • Sugar -2 tbsp. l.

  • Salt - 1 tsp with a slide

  • Butter soft - 30 g

Cooking:

Dissolve the yeast in water, add sugar, salt, gradually sifted flour, knead a coarse dough (so that the water takes all the flour). We spread the dough on the table, gradually add soft butter to it, after which the dough becomes elastic, smooth and uniform.

Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover with cling film and let rise until it triples in size.

We divide the dough in portions of about 70 g into buns, into bagels - 75 g each. Put the buns formed into round smooth koloboks on a baking sheet covered with parchment, be sure to cover them.

For bagels, roll the bun into a triangle 21 cm long, the end should be thin, roll into a bagel, spud the end so that it remains below, because the bagel will open during baking. Let rise on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 20-30 minutes (cover with cling film/damp towel).

Bake in a preheated oven at t 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes until slightly golden. We turn on the oven, put a container on the bottom (an old frying pan, a bowl). When we put the buns in the oven, pour a glass of boiling water into the container and close the oven. Although you can bake without steam.
