Hasidim arrived in Uman in the Cherkasy region to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. As of the morning of September 25, more than 23,000 pilgrims had already arrived. Foreigners held a mass Tikkun a-Klali prayer.

This was reported in the United Jewish Community of Ukraine in Telegram.

It is noted that as of 18.30 the Hasidic pilgrimage to Uman is going smoothly. Incidents and other emergency situations in the Hasidic pilgrimage area have not been identified.

The Rabbi Nachman Foundation, together with the authorities, organized the pilgrimage with high quality, law enforcement agencies ensured a high level of security.

In addition, in the context of a full-scale Russian war this year, 21 air raid shelters were prepared for security in Uman.

Also, at the very place of celebrations in the city, a special shelter for 2-2.5 thousand people is provided.

Recall that earlier in the SBU, Hasidic pilgrims were advised to refrain from visiting Ukraine this year to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. The decision was made jointly by the Israeli law enforcement agencies and the responsible Ukrainian authorities.

In addition, the Israeli Foreign Ministry called on citizens to refrain from visiting Ukraine on the eve of the Jewish New Year.

Recall that on August 5, 2022, the territory of Israel was subjected to rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. The announced strike began a few hours after the start of Operation Dawn against the Islamic Jihad terrorist group.

Subsequently, the head of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Benny Gantz, approved a decree to call up 25,000 troops.
