The Ukrainian prisoners of war fired as part of the exchange are not in the best physical condition, and now they are all in the hospital.
This was stated by the former commander of the regiment “Azov” Andrey Beletsky in one of the episodes.
According to him, there are many wounded among the liberated Ukrainian heroes. Those who were brought to Ukraine are already being examined by doctors.
“The majority will immediately go to their relatives, to their parents, in order to mentally and physically relax before getting down to business again,” Beletsky said.
The ex-commander of “Azov” said that he was able to talk on the phone with the commander of the Azov regiment Denis Prokopenko (Radis), Svyatoslav Ponomar (Kalina) and Apis, who were taken to Turkey.
“Messy, definitely a bit of a conversation. It was the first 15 minutes when they went down, left the FSB plane, the flying prison. Chaotic conversation. I greeted the guys, the guys talked about the fact that… Let’s just say that all the guys are in an absolutely normal moral and psychological state, although they have been alone all this time… Everyone expresses a desire to return to business, war and de-occupation of the country as soon as possible, ” - he said.
Recall that Ukraine exchanged 200 of our heroes for Viktor Medvedchuk, who has already given all the evidence to the investigation. And five commanders - for 55 Russian prisoners.
In total, Ukraine returned 215 defenders from Russian captivity. 124 officers and five of the most famous commanders managed to exchange - Hero of Ukraine Denis Prokopenko “Radis” from “Azov”, Sergei Volynsky “Volyn” from the 36th Marine Brigade, Svyatoslav Palamar (“Azov”), Oleg Khomenko (“Azov”) ”), Denis Shleg from the National Guard of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine Evgeniy Bovu. They are now safe in Turkey. The location of the officers is kept secret for their safety. According to the agreements, the military will remain in Turkey until the end of hostilities.
In addition, Ekaterina Polishchuk (“Bird”) and pregnant servicemen Maryana Mamonova, Yana Shumovetskaya and Anastasia Chernenkaya returned home.
At first it was about the exchange of only 50 defenders of Ukraine, but Kyiv managed to increase their number to 200. In the future, it is planned to exchange for all. Now Ukraine is dealing with this issue together with the UN and Erdogan.
