AI in WhatsApp will create new stickers for conversations
The latest test version of the WhatsApp application invites users to create specially selected stickers that will be generated by an artificial intelligence system. Reaction stickers have been a staple of online conversations for many years, so today you can choose from thousands of different sets. However, with the use of AI, it seems that the potential of new stickers is limitless.
Beta testers report that in the v2.23.17.14 version of the application, they can briefly describe what the sticker should represent, and the tool will give it out. This will help when we want to reflect our mood in a very specific way, but can’t find a sticker that suits us.
This feature is currently only available to a small group of people testing the beta version of the app on Android mobile devices. However, gradually the feature should be made available to subsequent subgroups until it is finally made available to all meta messenger users after testing.
Artificial intelligence stickers in WhatsApp - a useful feature or a useless gadget?
One example provided by testers was the creation of a “laughing cat on a skateboard” sticker, and the program did a surprisingly good job. However, the available materials do not show what the process of creating an AI sticker looks like from start to finish.
The new feature seems to address a specific issue. Stickers are a good way to spice up a conversation, but there are so many already that it can take too long to scroll through reaction packs and hunt for the perfect one.
Of course, the program will not create a sticker with absolutely any content. There is already a way to report stickers that may be offensive or harmful. Therefore, it can be assumed that they must comply with the WhatsApp policy in such aspects as the demonstration of violence or erotica.
