Steam has raised the minimum price you have to pay for video games. The cheapest goods became more expensive in many national currencies, including the Polish zloty. On the Vistula, prices for the cheapest games increased by 25 percent.

How much can you buy the cheapest games on Steam? Depends on which country. As it turns out, prices aren’t very similar, and Valve’s platform has further increased the cost of edge games in individual country currencies.

The minimum price of games on Steam has been increased - in PLN this is an increase of 25 percent.

The changes do not apply to the US dollar, where the minimum price remains at 99 cents. They also avoided means of payment such as Israeli shekels or Kuwaiti dinars. However, many currencies are waiting for a new deal.

The most interesting for us is the change in relation to the Polish zloty. Until now, the minimum price in national currency was PLN 3.59. After the introduction of the new price list, the minimum price will be PLN 4.49, i.e. 25 percent more. more.

A quarter increase may seem like a lot, but we’re still not that bad. Players from Argentina may feel the most brutal. There, the minimum price per game jumped a phenomenal 486 percent, from 13.99 to 82 pesos. Second on the list are internet users from Turkey, where the purchase price jumped from 2.10 to 11 lira, a 424 percent increase.

Why is Steam raising prices?

The latest move of the Steam platform is a repeat of the announcement from the end of last year. Valve simply claims its own and requires sellers to set prices at the level at which the owners of the virtual store will earn.

So far this has been a voluntary move, but Steam has finally decided to use the stick, not the carrot. Gaming platform managers recently announced that if game retailers do not comply with the rules announced in October and raise prices accordingly, administrators will block them from selling games in certain currencies and force players to pay for products in dollars.
