However, the path to success, big money or professional prestige is long. - I am glad that I had such an opportunity and a chance to work in the IT industry. And that I used it well,” says Adam Lach in an interview with Wprost.pl.

After school, Adam Lach began to study at the Wroclaw University of Technology. He chose mechanical engineering in the field of mechanics and mechanical engineering. - This is an area of engineering research that is more about designing and constructing machines than programming them. - speaks. After graduating from university, I searched for a professional path of my dreams for a long time.
He started as a draftsman, later became a designer in an optical company.
- I got my first job as a draftsman for an aviation company. I was involved in the preparation of 3D models, construction drawings, tolerance analysis and design of simpler components. he remembers. - Then I moved to a company from the optical industry, where as a designer I designed electric, linear stages for microscopes. he adds.
He continued to work as a designer in another company. It was a job related to equipment used on dairy farms. As he admits, he wanted to work on interesting and innovative projects. His commitment was quickly appreciated by his superiors. Adam was promoted to product engineer. He worked on products such as automatic brushes for cows and goats. In an interview with us, he admits that he still has feelings for them.
Adam could always count on the help of his superiors at work.
After some time, under the watchful eye of management, he was able to independently lead projects. - I could always count on the support of my superiors. My then boss, Barbara Paradiser, supported me in my professional development. he convinces. During this time, he had the opportunity to take many trainings on project management, to observe the work of other project managers and product owners.
However, he devoted most of his time to construction work, which did not quite suit him. He wanted to manage projects on an ongoing basis. - Thanks to external training, including AgileForce, I learned what agile and Scrum are he points out.
The next step was to change jobs. It took into account companies from the IT industry
The next step was to find a company where 100% of my time could be spent on working with the project and with people. - However, this time I was also looking for a company in the IT industry. - claims. More than six months passed before he was invited for an interview at ClearCode. - By that time, I had managed to accumulate some experience in project management and working with people. he adds.
The man mentions that recruitment interviews went smoothly. Finally, despite not having any experience in the IT industry, the new employer decided to give him a chance.
He came to IT with no industry experience
- I was offered a job as a project manager. In a new workplace, this role is not only project management, but also team management. - speaks. - The company has permanent teams. We select a project for the team, and not vice versa. As such, the responsibilities are much greater than what the job title states. he adds. He didn’t think long. He just wanted to discuss a job change with his wife, as they were expecting their second son that same month.
Adam Lach admits that when he joined ClearCode, his knowledge and experience in IT was close to zero, not to mention AdTech. However, the team he joined was already very experienced and open to cooperation. They decided to join forces. “I did PMing for them and they patiently explained their craft to me,” he says.
- Over time, we developed common paths, a certain methodology, and we got to know each other better as a team. I think this cooperation is good for both parties. he adds. The company was also prepared for the fact that he did not have experience in the industry. All changes or subsequent stages of gaining independence were coordinated together. Both sides wanted to avoid the risk that something could go wrong.
The IT industry was the best professional choice. Work gives him great pleasure.
The man has been working in this company for more than three years. In his opinion, the role of the project manager in the company is constantly evolving. - This is due to the fact that the company is changing, but so are we as a team, as well as me and my experience. Today, depending on the needs and in different proportions, as part of my work I am a project manager, a team leader, a scrum master or a product owner. But I’m always on the team he points.
Changes in the industry forced him to find his professional path. - After these three years in IT, I can say that because of such a variety of roles, the job still brings me satisfaction. And trust from the organization, independence and self-organization allow you to experiment and test your own ideas.
