Those who are already familiar with the light printing technology offered by the Inuru brand say directly: it is much more than an attractive curiosity. Soon the idea of two Poles will sound louder - they will present it at the Consumer Electronics Show, the largest technology fair in the world.
No wonder Consumer Electronics Show is called the largest in the industry of new technologies and electronics. It is at this event that the largest giants annually present their most important premieres in their portfolio. The next edition of the technology show will take place January 5-8, 2023, like every year, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Polish highlight of the exhibition will be the presence of Inuru, which will showcase its innovative light printing technology.
Light Print Technology of the Year. What is it about?
Printing with light is a brilliant idea in its simplicity that opens the door to completely new possibilities. The essence of the idea is to place labels on the packaging of goods using OLED technology, i.e. Organic Light Emitting Diode. It uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) made from organic compounds. In simple terms, light printing means creating backlit labels that can display any message and, by the way, respond to touch.
“Imagine you have duct tape. And it lights up - just like a lamp. This is OLED technology. This is the thinnest light technology you can imagine. It does not work like an LED - it is not a point of light, but an entire surface. Thanks to this, you can highlight whatever you want,” Marcin Ratajczak, one of the founders of Inuru, said in an interview.
The idea of light printing is based on the idea of a circular economy and limiting the production of products that harm the planet. In the production of an innovative label, heavy metals and any environmentally toxic substances are not used, and the solution itself is durable and allows you to reuse the same packaging.
Inuru can print OLED without using any wires on any material, including thin ones like paper or foil. In the future, animations and videos should also be displayed on ultra-thin media, such as information about expiration dates. OLED printers can be applied to anything from a bag of chips to a drug box. Minus? First: the technology is unstable, reacts badly, for example, in the air. However, Inuru is working on it right now.
A project that was born from sushi. Who is behind this?
Inuru was led by Marcin Ratajczak and Patrick Barkowski for 10 years. The gentlemen have known each other since school, and the story of their collaboration could be a ready-made idea for a movie script.
It was like this: when Patrick got tired of working in the laboratory, he called Marchin with an idea for a business. He was cleaning and struggling with the consequences of the economic crisis, so he took the call as a sign. True, at first they changed their minds about what exactly to do, but soon the hint came by itself - in the form of a menu in one of Berlin’s sushi bars.
Patrick, who has previously worked with the organic layers used in OLED technology, asked himself the question that became Inuru’s starting point: what if folders in a restaurant could display images? The gentlemen decided: “now or never” and began to develop their idea. Today Team Inuru is a big team - it consists of 16 people from 9 countries of the world.
Angelina Jolie and galaxy soda bottles. So the industry embraced the idea
Industry experts consider Inuru’s idea to be one of the most important innovations in the world of technology. Coca-Cola, among other things, has already used it by winning the prestigious Marketing Excellence Awards 2020 with their “Galactic Bottles”, i.e. illuminated bottles from Inuru.
Marcin Ratajczak appreciates this cooperation. In an interview, he even said that for him (and, probably, for many other entrepreneurs from around the world) “working with such a large structure is like being in a movie with Angelina Jolie.” The president of the Lem Institute, Dr. Maciej Kawiecki, is also enthusiastic about the innovation and published a post dedicated to it on his Twitter in August 2022.
Recall that in September 2022, the editors of Wprost awarded Inura with the Innowatory Wprost award in the Good Innovation Genes nomination.
Consumer Electronics Show 2023. The world is waiting for these premieres
At the January fair, world-famous brands will showcase innovative concepts that designers, programmers and engineers have been working on over the past few years. It is known that the Peugeot Inception concept or a new model of VR glasses for the PlayStation console will be released in Las Vegas. In this way, the Inuru brand will have a great company.
