The Polish 4×100 relay did very well in the finals of the World Championships in Athletics. Byalo-Chervone finished fifth, which is the best result in history. However, Eva Svoboda feels a certain inferiority.

On Saturday, August 26, for the first time since 2007, the Polish women’s team in the 4×100 meters relay took part in the final of the World Championship. Pia Skshishovskaya, Kristina Chimanovskaya, Magdalena Stefanovich and Eva Svoboda competed for the best result. As a result, Biala-Chervone finished the championship in fifth place with a time of 42.66 seconds - it was the best time of our relay race in history.

Amazing words of Eva Svoboda

After the race, Eva Svoboda decided to comment on this feat in an interview with Polsat Sport. “Before, we didn’t even reach the final. We missed a lot of this. I think the team is ok. There is a lot of young blood, we get along, so nothing but work and victories, - Svoboda admitted.

Despite the fact that participation in the final of the 4×100 relay race was a real achievement, and the fifth place was historical, Eva Svoboda feels unsatisfied. “I think we were able to achieve something better, so I’m a little unhappy. Everything that happened was within reach of the baton,” she admitted.

“I need to see what the race was like.” I think our shift was the best. Maddy kept the rhythm to the end. I also tried to run to the end,” she added.

Eva Svoboda: Dreams come true

The sprinter also admitted that this start cost her dearly. “I don’t know if I’m healthy or if my legs don’t work anymore and I can’t stand up straight,” she said.

“It’s good because dreams do come true.” No one would have thought that we would be fifth at the World Championships, she concluded.

The World Championships in Athletics are gradually coming to an end. Sunday, August 27, is the last day when the “white-reds” will be able to fight for medals. Javelin finalist David Wegner and the 4x400m relay team led by Alicia Vrona-Kutrzepa, Marika Popovich-Drapala, Patricia Wyciszkiewicz-Zawadzka and Natalia Kaczmarek will try to use their chance.
