The PR department of the Polish Football Association has been busy for several weeks now. The case of the departure of Miroslav Stasiak, who was involved in corruption, to the match in Moldova stirred up public opinion. As the event slowly lost its popularity, PZPN created another image problem.
Polish football currently does not have a good image. The last few months have greatly damaged the image of the Polish Football Association, which was created over the years. First there was a shameful defeat from Moldova. It later emerged that Miroslav Stasiak, a former activist, among other things, was convicted of corruption on the match’s official plane. from Opochno ceramics. Many sponsors, who did not want to associate their image with a person with a tarnished reputation, left the federation. As if that wasn’t enough, there are other instances that cast a shadow over the PZPN’s image.
Corrupt judge in PZPN commercial
The Polish Federation officially declares that the current edition of the Polish Cup will be a jubilee. The best clubs in the country will play in the 70th edition of the competition. During the draw for pairs of the first round, broadcast on YouTube, an official video advertising the cup was presented. Already in the first seconds of the video, the audience sees three judges, headed by the chief referee Anthony Fiyarczyk. This would not be surprising if it were not for the fact that the former referee was expelled from football structures several years ago.
Fiarczyk was implicated in corruption in the early years of the 21st century. After many years of refereeing at the Ekstraklasa level in 2005, he fell into a trap set by the police. He received a bribe from Petr Dzyurovich, who cooperated with law enforcement agencies. He hid one hundred thousand zlotys in the spare tire of the car, but after a while he was detained. Fiarchik paid bail and then disappeared from the sports media headlines. It no longer held official meetings under the auspices of the Polish Football Association.

The arrest of the Arbiter, who was born in Ornet, led to a series of other arrests. Together with Fiarczyk, his accomplice Marian Dusha was also detained.
The new director of communications and marketing, Tomasz Kozlowski, has already apologized for the entire event. “I apologize to all of you. In this video, there should not have been a person convicted of corruption in sports. It’s over, period,” he tweeted.
