Kamil Majczak doesn’t stop. The Polish tennis player won his third tournament this season after returning from suspension. This time he won the ATP Challenger tournament in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.
Kamil Majczak lost the previous season as he was unable to play on the courts due to a doping scandal. This year he is fighting an uphill battle to regain his ratings. However, at the moment things are going very well. He won his third tournament this season on Saturday, and it’s a unique tournament. This is the ATP Challenger 50 tournament in Kigali, for which the Pole received a wild card.
He defeated his opponent from Argentina
In the title match, Majczak’s opponent was Argentine tennis player Marco Trungelliti, seeded number 4 and ranked 220th in the ATP rankings. This has been one of Majczak’s biggest challenges since returning to tennis. Both finalists had to show a lot of patience, but also mental maturity. Because of the rain, they waited about two hours for the match to start.
When they went to court, the Polish representative turned out better. Kamil Majchrzak won Saturday’s fight with a score of 6:4, 6:4. After the match, Majcszak could breathe a sigh of relief as his rise in the ATP rankings looks better and better.
Promotion in more than 200 places
Before the competition in Kigali, Majczak was ranked 652nd in the world rankings. In the next ranking he will take about 440th place. So this will record a major jump. This will also affect the planning of the tournament schedule. So far, the Pole has mainly received a wild card from the organizers, and now he will have more chances to play in the qualifying rounds or the main draw.
Let us remember that in the past the 28-year-old football player was among the top 100 and participated in Grand Slam tournaments. His dream is to return to this level, and there are many signs that this is possible. Now he has another tennis tournament in Kigali.
