In the United States of America, it was decided to extend the period of stay of Ukrainian refugees for another two years. This applies to those refugees whose stay in the United States was supposed to expire this year. This was reported by Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Oksana Markarova.

“Thanks to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for today’s decision, which provides the opportunity for Ukrainian citizens whose stay in the United States under humanitarian passwords to expire this year to receive new humanitarian passwords for up to 2 years. Both Ukrainians who arrived in the United States under the “Uniting for Ukraine” (U4U) program and citizens who were provided with a humanitarian password at US border checkpoints from February 11 to April 25, 2022 received the right to restore their humanitarian password status. . years before the implementation of this program. “I am convinced that this decision is of particular relevance for citizens who lost their homes as a result of Russian military aggression and were forced to leave territories where hostilities are ongoing or temporarily occupied by Russia.”– she wrote.

Markarova noted that detailed information regarding the conditions and procedures for Ukrainian citizens to obtain new humanitarian passwords was published on the website of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

As FACTS wrote, last year the United States decided to extend the stay in America of Ukrainians and their immediate relatives who arrived in the country before the opening of the “Uniting for Ukraine” program.

It also became known that the Czech Republic will reduce assistance to refugees from Ukraine, and Ukrainians will receive an 18-month visa in the UK under a new extension scheme.
