Summer in volleyball is not only a representative season, but also a great time to change clubs. It seemed for a long time that Marcin Komenda would be tempted to do just that, but the Polish representative finally decided otherwise.
The last few weeks have been very successful for one of the Polish volleyball players. True, his team did not win the Plus League, did not reach the final stage of the playoffs, but he can still be pleased with himself. First he found himself in a wide team of players appointed by Nikola Grbic for the 2023 season, and now his future in another area has been decided.
During his career, Marcin Komenda changed clubs frequently.
Marcin Komenda, as we are talking about him, has changed clubs quite often since his youth. He first spent a year at AKS Resovia, then two years at SMS Spała, then the same at Effector Kielce and GKS Katowice. Later, he appeared for one season at Asseco Resovia, and in 2020 he left for PSG Stali Nysa. In 2022 he landed at LUK Lublin.
As the season drew to a close for his team, the quarterback’s future was once again in doubt. However, at the beginning of May, everything became clear thanks to the announcement of the Lublin Voivodeship Club.
Marcin Komenda has extended his contract with LUK Lublin. The club issued a statement
“Last week he was called up to the Poland national team for the 2023 season, so now we are even more proud to announce that he will spend next season at LUK Lublin! Midfielder Marcin Komenda will again lead the game of our team. Marcin Komenda joined LUK Lublin ahead of the 2022/2023 season. He appeared in all 32 games and scored 54 points.
The team finished 10th in the PlusLiga last season. In the match for the ninth place, following the results of the rivalry, the Lublin team lost to the Shlep Malov Suwałki. We may see the playmaker in action again soon if Nikola Grbic gives him a chance, for example in the Nations League.
