Four Polish representatives led by Kamil Stoch and Piotr Zyla qualified for the first series of the latest Raw Air competition. However, the absence of David Kubacki meant that none of the Whites and Reds counted even for a podium finish this year at the competition. In turn, the fight between Halvor Egner Granerud and Stefan Kraft was very interesting.

In the first round of the competition, Pavel Vansek did not improve his personal result, as in the prologue. The Pole flew a distance of 206.5 m, which ensured his entry into the final series. The second Pole who proved himself in the first series of jumps in Vikersund was Alexander Zniszhol. The Polish representative flew 205.5 meters, which also gave him access to the second series.

Kamil Stoch took the place of David Kubatsky. The vein reciprocated after the prologue

Kamil Stoch appeared third on the starting line. The champion from Zomba took the place of the absent David Kubatsky and flew up to a distance of 225.5 meters, which allowed him to think about fighting for high places in the second series.

The last of the white-reds was Piotr Zhyla, who was released for execution in the prologue. Belka flew only 187.5 meters, which gave him a promotion from a distant position. In the first series, Piotr Zyla flew much better, but not as far as Kamil Stoch. The world champion in a regular springboard landed at 218 meters.

The first stage of the competition in Vikersund: two Poles in the top ten

The first series was won by Raw Air leader Halvor Egner Granerud, who is on his way to winning the series. The second place went to Stefan Kraft, and the lowest step of the podium went to Domen Prevc, who was slightly ahead of his compatriot Anže Laniska.

Among Byalo-Chervoni, Kamil Stoch did the best, finishing 9th after the first round. He finished tenth one place behind him. Aleksander Znischol finished 23rd and Paweł Vansek finished 30th to qualify for the final.

Turnbichler jumped up after Ruin’s jump

The second series began with jumps from the 14th log, and Pavel Vansek was the first to make his last attempt. The athlete landed very far and was close to breaking his personal best again, which after the prologue is 216.5 meters. The system calculated that the representative of Poland jumped 214 meters on the second attempt, which was a very solid result. Alexander Znishhol, who reached a distance of 220.5 meters, said goodbye to Vikersund no less well. This attempt was pleased with the athlete and coach Thomas Turnbichler, who jumped for joy after the jump of his ward

Unfortunately, the jump of 220.5 meters led to the fact that Petr Zhyla fell out of the top ten. Kamil Stoch, next in line, was more fortunate and completed the 227.5m long jump, which guaranteed him a place in the top 10. However, after the jump of the three-time Olympic champion, the real struggle for victory began. the Raw Air series had just begun, and the main stakeholders in the final winners were, of course, Stefan Kraft and Halvor Egner Granerud.

Kraft was the first to report the beam. Just before the jump, a stronger wind picked up and the competitor had to step off the log. With a jump of 235.5 meters, the Austrian confirmed that he is in excellent shape. Everything depended on the jump of Halvor Egner Granerud, who had to make an effort to win. To overtake an opponent in this competition, the Norwegian had to jump about 223 meters. The Crystal Ball winner jumped 219 meters, which put him in second place in this event, but he won the entire cycle.
