G7 ambassadors put President Volodymyr Zelensky before a choice - to veto law 5655, which cuts the powers of the communities, or to side with the authors of the law, which is pushing through a large corruption scheme. This opinion was published by ex-people’s deputy Alexander Chernenko on his Facebook page, commenting on the statement of the ambassadors of the G7.
In their statement, the G7 ambassadors stressed that it is important to preserve the power of local communities when implementing urban reform. According to Ex-Parliament Alexander Chernenko, in this way the ambassadors of the G7 countries showed their rejection of law 5655, which significantly curtails the rights of local self-government.

“When the ambassadors of the G7 countries, after a meeting with Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Community Development Alexander Kubrakov and Deputy Prime Minister - Ministry of Digital Development Mikhail Fedorov, talk about the need to preserve the powers of communities, in diplomatic terms this means that the G7 is not at all delighted with the “mysto-violent” law 5655. It is this law that is now on the president’s desk, waiting for adoption or veto, ” - says Chernenko.
According to Alexander Chernenko, after the G7 ambassadors’ statement, President Volodymyr Zelensky found himself faced with a choice.
“The first is to take into account the position of international partners, to support the appeal of the Association of Ukrainian Cities on the use of the right of veto until 5655 and the petition of the citizens of Ukraine, which received the necessary 25,000 votes on the first day of voting. Or the second: to take the side of the authors of the bill 5655, which pushes through a large corruption scheme, ”- written by Chernenko.
