On the anniversary of Russia’s large-scale attack on Ukraine, the administration of US President Joseph Biden announced a new package of military assistance to our country.

“Exactly one year ago, Russia launched an unprovoked and unjustified full-scale invasion of peaceful and democratic neighboring Ukraine. A year later, the commitment of the United States, along with some 50 countries that rallied to urgently provide urgently needed assistance to Ukraine, has only strengthened,” according to the message of the US Department of Defense.

The $2 billion package is being provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

The security package includes:

• Additional Munitions for Rocket Artillery Systems (HIMARS);
• Additional 155 mm artillery shells;
• Ammunition for laser-guided missile systems;
• UAV CyberLux K8;
• UAV Switchblade 600;
• UAV Jump 20;
• UAV Altius-600;
• Equipment for the detection of UAVs and electronic warfare;
• Demining equipment;
• Protected communications auxiliaries;
• Funding for training, maintenance and support.

The report notes that we are talking about the purchase, and not the supply of equipment from the stocks of the US Department of Defense. This message is the beginning of the process of concluding contracts to provide additional capabilities to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the United States of America will give Ukraine long-range GPS-guided bombs capable of hitting targets at a distance of 72 km.

And former British Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss called on the government of his successor Rishi Sunak to include fighter jets in military aid to Ukraine.
