The Russian terrorists, as miserable as they were, entered the new year. Our defenders were great, and on January 1 they showed themselves very well, shooting down 45 “shaheeds” on New Year’s Eve.

President Volodymyr Zelensky drew attention to this fact in his first address to Ukrainians in the new year.

“The other day, it was as clear as possible how far we have moved away, mentally, simply humanly, from what Russia is “cooked” in. Our sense of unity, authenticity, life itself - this contrasts so much with the fear that has reigned in Russia … They are afraid. It is felt. And rightly afraid. Because they will lose. Drones, missiles, everything else will not help them. Because we are together. And they are perhaps together with fear. And they will never take away from Ukraine, they will not take away our independence. We won’t give them anything.”- the head of state is sure.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also thanked everyone who beats the enemy at the front every day and night! And to power engineers, public utilities for a stable energy supply and a minimum of outages - taking into account all the circumstances. Wherever transmission lines and other power facilities have been damaged by shelling, restoration continues around the clock.

“And how we thanked our warriors. How we thanked our loved ones. Like millions of times all over Ukraine, all over the free world, our wish has sounded and still sounds - the wish of victory. Let’s do everything to make it happen! Glory to all our soldiers! Glory to each and every one who works for the victory of Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!” President Zelensky summed up the appeal.

Congratulating Ukrainians on the New Year, the President said that 2022 was the year of Ukraine. This year, Ukrainians have become different, got rid of illusions, realized what they are capable of in order to protect their country.
