Piotr Zhyla’s suit became a target again. Andreas Stjernen, a former ski jumper and now TV expert of this discipline, claims that the Pole’s suit definitely helps him in jumping and he should be disqualified for this.

Petr Zyla takes third place in the overall standings of the Four Hills Tournament. In Oberstdorf, the Pole took second place, and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, he was only 11th. The 35-year-old athlete loses 13.3 points to the second David Kubatsky and is ahead of the fourth Anza Lainska by 11.3 points. After both competitions in Oberstdorf and Ga-Pa, disputes broke out over the Pole’s costume.

Will Piotr Zhyla’s costume be missed again?

Immediately after the second jump in Oberstdorf, it became obvious that Piotr Zyla’s suit was not fastened properly, which should have led to his disqualification. The Pole was very lucky, because none of the judges noticed this, and immediately after the athlete handed over the equipment, the judge cannot cancel or change his decision.

The same thing happened in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but this time it was not about unzipping the neck of a Polish jumper. The Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet quoted former ski jumper Andreas Stjernen as having noticed yet another inaccuracy in Petr Zyla’s clothing.

Andreas Stjernen: Zhila has experience manipulating suits

The Norwegian considers the “Squirrel” suit to be extreme. In his opinion, the Pole has a larger supporting surface in the crotch area than other players, which means that he has an unregulated suit. Stjernen added that during the inspection, Piotr Zhyla spreads his legs and the clothes stretch, and when he folds them, the material rises.

“Zila has a lot of experience with costumes and manipulating them. In addition, now Matthias Hafele sews clothes in Poland. He is very experienced and comes from Austria. Then he should know most of the tricks. But, apparently, the Poles did not have the equipment to beat Granerud in Oberstdorf, added Andreas Stjernen.
