Despite the good relations between Serbia and Russia, official Belgrade is not going to recognize the results of the referenda on the annexation of the self-proclaimed LDNR, as well as the occupied regions of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine.
Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic stated this at a press conference in Belgrade.
According to him, the recognition of the results of these fictitious “referendums” would be completely contrary to the state and national interests of Serbia and would be “opposite to the national policy of maintaining territorial integrity and sovereignty and adherence to the principle of invariability of borders.”
Meanwhile, Turkey also does not recognize the pseudo-referendums that the occupation authorities of the Russian Federation are holding in the occupied Ukrainian territories.
In addition, at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, China and India called for an end to the war in Ukraine, while not giving strong support to their traditional ally Russia.
As you know, from 23 to 27 September in the occupied parts of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions are “referenda” on joining the Russian Federation.
At the same time, in the Donetsk region, the invaders are trying to form a “Cossack battalion” from the Ukrainian prisoners of war held in the Olenovsky colony. At the same time, the invaders force them to vote in a pseudo-referendum.
At pseudo-referendums, Russian propagandists are accompanied allegedly by “foreign observers”, but in fact, foreigners closely associated with the Russian authorities.
In addition, according to the SBU, the Russian occupiers “summed up” the results of fake referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine in early September.
As reported, in the Lugansk region, the occupiers, having no lists of the population remaining in the captured cities, “draw” a turnout of 45%.
Given this, Ukraine demands to urgently convene a meeting of the UN Security Council on the “referendums” that the Russian Federation is trying to hold in the temporarily occupied territories.
