famous creative duo Christopher Miller And Phil Lord there’s another hit on their hands with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Spider-Multiverse movie kills him at the box office with just about everything a fan could want - a heartfelt adventure about a contraption, the perfect villain for Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) capable of destroying the multiverse, and a lot of Spider-Men (about 280 to be exact). However, what was missing were the post-credits scenes. Apparently, this was not always the case, as Miller and Lord told IndieWire that the original plan was to release a final teaser based on Jason SchwartzmanSpot.

It was a little unusual for Through the universes of spiders hit theaters without any post-credits footage. Marvel films commonly used such teasers, but they were also present in the first film of this trilogy. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. As the credits rolled, the audience caught a glimpse of Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac), setting up a larger Spidey multiverse for a sequel. Miller and Lord ultimately dropped the scene because they were happy with the ending they already had, which was teaser enough for the next movie in itself. “It’s hard to beat where we left off,” Lord told IndieWire. Director duo Joaquim dos Santos And Kemp Powers said almost the same thing to the editor-in-chief of Collider Steve Weintraub in his interview, stating that the ending scene should be before the credits.

However, the original plan was to involve another scene that never made it into the film. According to Miller and Lord, in the opening scene, Spot was supposed to be hanging out in a bar filled with Spider-Man villains, but no one notices his presence. Lord elaborates: “And then he finally steals a drink for himself, pours it, and everything flows out of his holes. He is the dumbest villain ever. However, a great line that Chris wrote: “Trying to fill a hole in his heart.” with many holes. Not the best method.”

The post-credits scene would show Roth’s rise in power

However, as the film progresses, Spot transforms from a petty thief into a formidable villain to finally get the attention of Miles and the Society of Spiders. He learns to control his dots, facilitating travel between worlds and eventually turning him into a threat to the entire multiverse. This will also be reflected in his design, which will become less like a silly solid white creature with spots on an abyss-like creature. The post-credits scene would be his ultimate “be careful who you pick” redemption story as he would return to the villain bar and easily take out all the enemies that looked down on him before.

Since there was no place for the Spot’s original journey, this final scene would never have worked, something that brings back the character’s animation head Alan Hawkins was a little disappointed. “It was one of my favorite moments to see this guy get picked on and then he comes back and destroys everyone who comes near him in one whisper. But for this to work, you must have both of these sequences.

Instead, the movie only ends with a card promising that Miles will return for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the final part of the Spider-Verse trilogy. The film, currently slated for March 29, 2024, promises to be a wild conclusion as Miller and Lord promise even more new Spiders than Through the universes of spiders. These web-slingers are likely to include Miles’ original allies from the first film, including Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Spider Ham (John Mulaney), Penny Parker (Kimiko Glenn), Spider Noir (Nicolas Cage), and, of course, Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld). Miles’ journey through the multiverse has also made new friends who will return in the sequel, such as Hobie Brown (Daniel Kaluuya), Pavitr Prabhakar (Karan Soni) and Spider-Byte (Amandla Stenberg).
