The decision to bring attention to classic chart anthems sung by leading black women in the music industry certainly seems to have been made with strong intent. Central to the story is how Queen Charlotte’s race plays an important role in restructuring the foundations of society. As the first black woman to marry into a prominent white family - no less the King of England - old conventions clash, making her much more powerful. The storyline merges with the creator of the show Shonda Rhimesa vision of a beautifully diverse universe that has been explored with mighty intent throughout history Bridgerton row. This is explored in the first season by the two leading Blacks, Lady Danbury and the Duke of Hastings, and in the second season by the Sharma sisters, who are proud of their South Asian heritage.
