Nathan Lane disclosed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon what’s his Bo is afraid the co-star couldn’t make eye contact with the actor while filming their upcoming project. While Lane insists that he and Joaquin Phoenix “really hit it off” on the set of the new Ari AsterIn the film, he explained that they had “very different feelings” and then revealed that Phoenix couldn’t make eye contact with him for fear he would “break down” from laughing.
Explaining that the couples clash on set, Lane joked that Phoenix is ”very stressed out and I’m just stressed out”, going on to talk about how his co-star “thought I was funny… so just know that in every major plan, and in the scene with me, he looks right at my nose, ”so as not to break the character in the middle of the take. However, Lane praised the star, calling him “brilliant” and “the best actor working in film today.”
Speaking about the film, Lane joked that he likes to “call it Jewish”. Phoenix is no stranger to non-standard roles, but his role in Bo may be his strangest, as Lane playfully said he would call the film “Kafkaesque, but then I’ll have to explain Kafka and we’ll be here all night”; though, judging by the trailer, viewers can expect to see a disturbing but comedic exploration of Bo’s psyche in Phoenix’s first cinematic outing since 2021. come on, come on. Phoenix is filming now Joker: Folie a Deuxlike him and Lady Gaga star in what should be another surreal affair as a sequel to his 2019 film. Joker It is reported to be a musical.
