Editor’s Note: The following are spoilers for The Revenant Season 44, Episode 4.four episodes, survivor continues its tendency to create serious tensions in the tribal councils. The latest episode didn’t disappoint in that regard, as an unexpected turn of events had one of the contestants pack their bags abruptly. There was a lot of action in this 42-minute episode, including three people switching tribes, two challenges, and one person returning home who didn’t play the Idol of Immunity, which they thought was real - it wasn’t. With a season filled with plenty of drama at the start, Wednesday’s episode delivered everything fans could ask for.
Soka wins immunity contest, Tika heads to tribal council
In the crucial test of immunity, each member of the three teams (with the exception of two players who did not participate in the game) took turns jumping off a platform, grabbing an object hanging over the water, swimming across to another platform, and walking along a narrow beam. before solving the manta puzzle. After winning the first challenge of the episode, Soka continued to assert its dominance with a second win of the day. This happens after the tribe had to vote for Claire Raphson in the previous tribal council. After Soki’s finish, Ratu was at the top as each team provided security and provided a tarp for their group. This forced Tika to vote for someone as they increased from four people to three.
New to Tiki Josh Wilder after him and two others, Carson Garrett And Jaime Lynn Ruiz, were sent on their way after the first test. There, they traveled through the jungle and found that each of them had earned an immunity idol, but they needed to pick up a new buff in order to join the new tribe. This is how Josh ended up in a difficult situation where he tried to assimilate into the group, but before the vote he was told two different things. Knowing that Immunity was in his back pocket, he sensed in the Tribal Council that something fishy was going on: “I was in a very good position in Sok and now I have gone to the bottom of the barrel. [at Tika]”. With two sentences, one of Yam Yam Arocho And Sarah Wade assuming they voted no Caroline Vigerand another one with Caroline in which he showed her his idol to gain her trust, Josh chose the latter.
Sarah gets a shocking surprise at the Tribal Council
After the votes were cast, Josh decided to play his Immunity Idol. As usual, Jeff Probst left it open to anyone who can play the power. Caroline keeps the idol herself, and Sarah believes she had one too, but as we saw earlier in this episode, what she discovered was a trap set by Caroline in which she used a fake idol she got to convince Sarah that she has found the power.
Neither decided to play their possession, leaving both them and Yam Yum open to a vote. The first two votes confirmed Josh’s suspicions as his name was read (these votes were invalid), causing the last two votes to fall on the shoulders of a shocked Sarah. With a 2–0 vote by Josh and Caroline, Sarah did not believe their plan backfired and became the fifth person to be eliminated that season. Yam Yam’s jaw dropped as soon as he realized what had happened. Now he finds himself redundant in this tribe of three.
Close challenge but correct decision by Josh in his first vote with Tika
Josh felt that he was in a good position with his former tribe in Sok. In fact, his peers believed that he was playing in the middle, and as we saw in the first few minutes, he would be a likely target in the next eviction. So his departure to a private island was the best thing that happened to his game as he was given a new opportunity with another team. Even though he was the shortest person on the totem pole, he used the free immunity idol to the best of his ability. His decision not only to tell but to show Caroline was a smart tactic. He could have done it with Yam Yam and Sara after meeting them for the first time, but his radar must have told him otherwise.
Now Josh is in a pretty good place, albeit on a much weaker side than the one he left behind. At least he has earned Caroline’s trust, who has already done away with Yam-Yam’s antics, and she has the most power of the three as she still holds her Immunity Idol that no one knows about.
