Less than a month after Selena Gomez overtaking Kylie Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram, she has reached another social media milestone. The 30-year-old pop star has become the first woman to reach 400 million followers on a photo-sharing app. Gomez celebrated the accomplishment by posting a selection of photos of her posing with fans, captioning the carousel: “I wish I could hug all 400 million of you“.
In just a day, he already has 401 million subscribers. Meanwhile, Jenner remains near the back with 382 million, while soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo holds the top spot with 563 million followers.
While Selena Gomez is certainly grateful to her fans, she is candid about how social media and violent body-shaming comments have affected her mental health. “My weight kept fluctuating because I was taking certain medications. And obviously people just didn’t accept it. Gomez said in a recent interview. “Looks like they couldn’t wait to find something to humiliate me. I was shamed for gaining weight because of my lupus. I lied. I would go online, post a picture of myself, and say, “It doesn’t matter. I don’t accept what you say.” All this time, while in the room, I was posting and crying because no one deserves to hear such things. I just think it’s so unfair”.
In mid-February, the star discussed her social media presence with Vanity Fair, confirming that her Instagram is still driven by her assistant and TikTok is the only app on her phone.
“People might call me ugly or stupid, and I’m like, “Whatever.” But these people are detailing. They write comments so specific and vicious. I cried all the time. I constantly had anxiety … I could no longer. It was a waste of my time“.
However, Gomez told Vanity Fair that she enjoys interacting with fans online and listening to their stories.
Recall, Selena Gomez spoke about the breakup with Justin Bieber: “This is the best thing that has ever happened, but it broke my heart.”

I am currently working as a news website author at Daily News Hack. I mostly cover trending news and have been doing so for quite some time now. I have always had a keen interest in current affairs and the world around me, which is what led me to my current job.
I firmly believe that the best way to learn about something is by doing it yourself and that is why I love my job so much. It allows me to be constantly learning about new things and then sharing that knowledge with others.
I am also a big believer in the power of networking and building relationships. I think that LinkedIn is a great platform for connecting with like-minded people from all over the world.
