Jenna Ortega placed Saturday night life with musical guest 1975 and overall it gave us a great show. And one of the first sketches of the evening was Ortega hanging out with the boys from Please don’t destroy. Comedy group, which includes Ben Marshall, John HigginsAnd Martin Herlihygradually continued to make a name for themselves on Saturday night life and this is one of the first times their sketch of the night has been in the spotlight. But it was very cool.
As always, the host talks to the group as if he were himself, and while Ortega talks about burnout, the boys mostly ignore her to pack their bags and go on a beautiful cross-country trip. After all the stress Ortega just talked about, she immediately wants to join her and the guys from Please Don’t Destroy are happy to see her. Until they all go out into the open together.
As they ride and sing a song about their journey, the whole team slowly gets on each other’s nerves and they start to fight each other. Like Marshall and Ortega arguing over their porridge, or like Higgins and Herlihy yelling at each other about going out. Honestly, this is important if you’ve ever traveled with friends, or even if someone tries to navigate for you but doesn’t give you as much attention as you’d like. Combine that with the catchy song they all came up with and it’s a really fun sketch.
It was the last show in March, which means that if NBC doesn’t come to an agreement with the editors Saturday night life, it was the last show before the April 1st strike. For the past month, editors have been clamoring on social media and in line at the show for support in contract negotiations with NBC, and it’s gotten to the point where they plan to strike to make their voices heard. . You can support them share your resources and listen to editors!
A lot of the “Please Don’t Destroy” sketch is chaotic, but was this one oddly related? Maybe we all travel too much.
